An enthralling mixed media demonstration in December 2015
by Joyce Peterson
If your list of New Year’s resolutions includes your art aspirations then December’s demonstrator, Lisa Agaron, was a great holiday gift. Want to broaden your horizons? Try something new? Then get excited about a totally enthralling experience of collaging on gessoed wood panels using photos, paint, stones, shells and anything you find. Creativity emerges, as Lisa expresses it, in a “mysterious, ethereal, dream-like feeling that expresses your individual path."
With a smaller than usual audience, Lisa showed us the joy of art-making, the fun of experimentation, and the excitement in seeing a creation evolve. Her personal philosophy revealed her vast background of psychology as a therapist and a hands-on graphic artist in the corporate world for 18 years. A graduate of the Art Center College of Design, Lisa shared tricks of the trade and made several of us want you to take one of many local workshops to try her mixed media technique. Can’t wait to try something new? Want to join us? To learn more about Lisa, and to see her work, visit her web site and check out two videos, one showing her lotus series, and another in which she introduces herself and describes her workshops. |
