Honor Haase

Here are a couple of my recent watercolors. 

The Goblet with Blossoms is a still life I set up for my painting pleasure in these days of more time to devote to art.

My dog and I often walk in Deukmejian Wilderness Park where this magnificent old oak stands. It's the one that Glendale's Robert McFall saw to it that firefighters specially protected during the Station Fire a few years ago.

​As a native Californian, I feel a special fondness for the poppies that splash our hillsides with color. I often heard my Dad sing a song about 'golden poppies gleaming in the sun.' So, I've been enjoying making a series of small watercolors of these bright flowers.

​In addition, I was drawn to the face of a perceptive Brazilian rancher whom I read about and who recognizes the great importance of saving the rainforest.
