This is from a photo I took of “Blossom “ one of the cows rescued by Animal Place a farm animal sanctuary located in Placer County north of Sacramento. They are big but very sweet. I like her blonde coloring. 16 by 20 acrylic

This painting is based on a photo I took while traveling on the 5 Interstate highway. It is a field of flowers and I was amazed at the vivid yellow. I like the counterpoint of the flowering almond tree’s pinkish hue to the right and the distant blue hills. “Flower Field” 16 by 20 acrylic.

I painted this from a photo I took of the Open Space Trail in La Canada. I actually added in the trail to the left to add interest and took out the power lines and a fence. I like the colors of the San Gabriel Mountains in the distance. Acrylic 16 by 20.
Based on my trip last summer on the Cotswolds Way in England. 16 by 20 acrylic
Central California Valley is another acrylic I recently painted, also from a photo I took on the same trip. It is 16x20. I was again impressed with the overpowering hills steep and almost ominous and the attempt by people to make a living from the land. I purposely made the barn and the pickup truck seem insignificant!

This was done from a photo I took of the pond at Hailes Abbey a ruin on the Cotswolds Way. 16by 20 acrylic
My painting, The Fruit Stand, was done from two photos I took when I was up in Central California. We were stopped at a fruit stand (not the one in the painting) and I turned around and saw this stunning scene of the huge soft hills with the red barn. I knew I had to paint it! The fruit stand was another one on the trip. I changed the sign a bit but was intrigued with the effort and pride which went into it.
The painting is acrylic 16 x 20. |
