Flowers in Watercolor Using with Negative Painting

Learn to paint luscious, expressive flowers using negative painting. Painting negative shapes (the shapes that occupy the space around objects) is the quickest way to take your paintings to the next level. This fun workshop will help you understand what to look for to paint negative shapes and learn how to create depth in your floral paintings. Demonstrations and exercises will help reinforce what you’ve learned. You will be amazed when flowers “magically” appear as you learn to paint what is NOT the subject of your painting.
Julie is currently on the Board of Mid-Valley Arts League and has also served on the Boards of National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West. She is a Signature Member of Watercolor West and Western Colorado Watercolor Society. Her work has been juried into several national and international exhibitions. She received the Valley Watercolor Society Top Honors Award in their 2012 and 2015 juried exhibitions. Julie also teaches watercolor classes at the City of San Gabriel Community Services Department and at Creative Arts Group in Sierra Madre. |
