Meet Christina Guo, 2020 Scholarship Winner
I am a 20 year old student and artist from Temple City. I am an avid coffee and tea drinker, and love to go out to a café to sketch. I am a pretty private person, but I love to be around people, especially other artists.
Though I have had a passion for art my entire life, I really started to gain an artistic sensibility in my last two years of high school. I attended Temple City High School and the AP art classes I took in my junior and senior year were very formative in my development. Currently in my third year at Pasadena City College, I will be transferring to the California College of the Arts next year, pursuing a BFA in Animation. These three years at PCC have been astronomically influential. I was awarded the Honors for Superior Achievement in Portfolio Development and Critique in May of 2019. I believe in being well-rounded, not just in art, but in life. I am a big nerd; I love the natural sciences and history (and yes, even math!). One of my favorite college courses was Animal Biology, wherein we were able to dissect a variety of different fauna, and I think this holistic approach to education informs my art by imbuing it with that appreciation for the world around me. |
